YogaKids

Yoga has become part of the American Mainstream and is widely available most everywhere.
Angela Thomas Jones, Certified YogaKids Faciliator and Registered Yoga Teacher says "yoga" has been around a lot longer than the "American Mainstream" and although fashion wear and trinkets that come with fads and trends may come and go, the benefits of a regular yoga practice are timeless!  Yoga is something every BODY can do and it doesn't require "athleticism" and provides a great physical outlet for those who do not identify nor find enjoyment in "sports" or "athletics".  Yoga postures can be adapted to the classroom, the office, and at home!

Jones began practicing Yoga during her pregnancy with her first child, now 12 years old. What began as a desire to find effective learning & coping strategies for her own children, led Jones to seek in-depth training and study as to how to integrate practical yoga applications for every day people in every day situations.  She continues to donate many hours to local school classrooms in support of educators who are seeking effective alternative methods for increasing effective school learning environment.  This is a natural fit for Jones. For nearly two decades her primary field of practice has been education, addictions treatment, and sobriety maintenance support.  Her background includes wilderness emergency medicine, adventure based counseling, and the arts.  She says her eclectic interests & expertise has increased her ability to recognize the value of diversity in every situation. This enables her to connect with her clients on many levels of understanding & provide a deeper, more meaningful service whether it be in the traditional
classroom setting, at the desk in an office, or behind the wheel driving a delivery truck.

The services her practice offer include a portable YogaKids studio that has served local schools, community centers, and faith communities for over 5 years.   Seasonal YogaKids series for infants, toddler, pre-school through Senior High are offered through out the year. She also offers at her studio one-on-one Yoga consults specializing in youth & children where she may also integrate a variety of expressive arts modalities depending on the interests of her client/s.  She explains that more and more parents are seeking support for their children who may not necessarily meet school requirements for "special needs" but have unique characteristics in need of attention such as highly sensitive sensory awareness, irritability, difficulty with internal regulation of temper & attitude, sleep disturbance, or anxiety related challenges.

Angela believes all symptoms are an opportunity to gain insight into our lives & circumstances and any effective treatment, education, or therapeutic approach will enable the student or client to gain understanding.  Through understanding then comes insight and with insight comes confidence in self-knowing. A simple and accessible remedy with benefits for a life-time!  Her approach with all students and clients is to teach simple and easy self-care techniques that can be done at home, at school, and at work.  She says, depending on each situation, four weekly 45-minute sessions is usually enough to get folks started.

Her offices are located in Sugar Hill and Littleton.  Her fees include a radical sliding scale negotiated on individual basis. Some insurance policies apply.
